N for nest

N is for... nest!

Birds build nests to protect their eggs. After the eggs hatch, baby birds call their nests home until they grow feathers and learn how to look after themselves.

Fact:

Birds aren't the only animals that have made nests for their eggs.

Can you think of any other nest-builders?

Dinosaurs built nests!

It is now clear that at least some dinosaurs built nests to lay their eggs in. Scientists still argue whether they actually looked after their young like birds do - what do you think they did?

Come and see the dinosaur eggs on display at the museum!
