R for rabbit

R is for... rabbit!

Everybody knows what a rabbit looks like - but have you seen a rabbit skeleton before? This specimen is quite old, and very unusual!

Fact:

Rabbits are everywhere in Britain. They are so familiar you may think they are native animals - but they are not.

Do you know where rabbits originally came from?

Rabbits originally came from Spain!

Rabbits were introduced to England by the Normans in the 12th century for food.

But it is not just England where rabbits have been introduced. In places like Australia, rabbits can reach plague proportions as they reproduce very quickly.
