The nymphs of dragonflies and damselflies always live in water, but the adults have been found everywhere from deserts to over oceans. They are predatory, and can fly up to 35 mph.

Dragonflies are an ancient group of insects. Some ancient dragonflies had wingspans of 75 cm!
